Today, before realizing tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent & Fasting, I finally made the decision to “Go Green.”
{ Before getting into the “meat” of this post, there’s a PSA regarding recent feedback about blog posts being “short.” Imagine what the camera catches when the shutters quickly open and close; it captures a very brief moment in time, not an entire album of pictures. The goal here is to capture moments of inspiration in time and share it through a short & sweet blog post, not to write essays elaborating and/ or persuading you one way or another on various subjects. }
After hearing an overhead announcement at work stating that Ash Wednesday is tomorrow, the decision I made earlier in the day to “Go Green” was even more urgent. There has been a relentless & an ongoing struggle with battling cravings and indulging in what may be considered as “not so healthy” on the spectrum of healthy foods, and this is the end {at least for now}. For Lent, I will be on a strict pescatarian diet infused with lots of greens. After fasting for Lent, my newly adopted green pescatarian diet is to be adjusted for better {more ‘green’} or for worse {less ‘green’} based on how the new diet went over forty plus days.
All in all, there is no better time than NOW to make a change you’ve been wanting to make. Everything happens in the right time, and there was no better day than today to take a leap toward cleaner eating for a leaner body !
Lastly, it’s best to get fit from the inside out; in other words, there’s no point in going to the gym after eating a greasy meal at McDonald’s.
“Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it.”
